Does Ebay take a cut? If so how much for a rookie and then for a veteran power seller? How does one succeed at Ebay?

Basically it depends on how much your item sells for. If your item sells for $25 or less, eBay gets 5.25% of your sale. If you sell something between $25 and $1000, ebay gets 5.25% of the first $25, then whatever is left ebay gets 3.25%.

So if your item sold for $100, ebay will take $3.75 of your item. 1.31 for the first $25 and 2.44 of the $75 remaining.
